Rallies

The distances over which rallies on public roads can be run have been revised up to 500 miles for Closed Invitation and Restricted competitions and up to 300 miles for Closed events, providing there is either an enforced halt of at least one hour for each competitor en route or that no one competitor drives more than 200 miles continuously without relief. This is no doubt a sensible safety measure. Meanwhile, cycle racing is legal over the same congested public roads.
