LANCIA AS A DRIVER

Sir,

I have read with great interest in your current issue the letter ” Lancia as a driver,” by Mr. Peter Heck. I have known this fine American artist, as a friend, for some time now.

It has been my misfortune to have only seen Cox. Lancia race twice, in the 1907 and 1008 Grand Prix at Dieppe, and I have vivid recollection of the great man in the first lap in the 1907 Race on his red F.I.A.T. with his black umbrellacoat, as worn in those days, totally blown out. by the wind like a 11.1111Gail Michelin Bibendum. Returning to Mr. Helek, lie is much tno modest apparently to say that lut is the actual owner of the -Locomobilc Racer which won the Vandervelle Cup Race on October 24th, 19(18, driven by Robertson 258.06 Miles, average 64.3 m.p.h., also accomplishing the fastest lap at 69.4 I am, Yours, etc.,

London, W.11. C. R. ABBOTT. * * *
