sup ERCHARGED and why
WE shall not supercharge our cars, said the Lagonda designers, merely to obtain an unusable road speed. We demand the flexibility, lightning acceleration, and silence that are more important to the owner.
Now, after exhaustive research and trial, their ideals have been realised. Tested at Brooklands in the hands of “The Motor,” the new 2-litre supercharged ‘Special’ has already given an amazing performance under unfavourable weather conditions. A speed of 70 m.p.h. was attained from rest in 22-3/5ths seconds, and from rest to 90 m.p.h. in 50 seconds.
Remembering that the figures quoted were attained with a 13 H.P. engine running 20 miles to the gallon, it is hardly surprising to find them described in the official report as ” superlative ” and the complete car as “one of the most attractive ever driven.” Prices : Chassis 610 Tourer 775 Weymann Saloon £875
