Next year’s Hall of Fame event will feature a live auction courtesy of H&H Classics, allowing guests and attendees to bid for a variety of historic race cars. It is the first time that the event, which honours motor sport’s greatest names, will have hosted a car auction.

H&H Classics is one of the best known auction houses; it has made a habit of breaking records in recent years and often features in our magazine pages. This month is no exception – our auction pages feature a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow previously owned by George Best.

The auction will take place over two days to coincide with our Hall of Fame awards ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club, Woodcote Park, Surrey. There will be a preview evening on June 5, followed by the auction itself on the 6th. The awards dinner is on the 7th. It will mark the first time that H&H Classics has held an auction in south-eastern Britain.

Dominic Lyncker, the managing director of H&H, said: “We are delighted to be the auction partner for this event. It fulfills three strategic wins for us; partnership with Motor Sport, one of the flagship publications, a world-famous event and the opportunity to take our growing success south. It’s a win-win opportunity.”

The annual Hall of Fame is a highlight of the motor sport calendar. Readers vote for famous names, from a short list compiled by the Motor Sport team, across a variety of categories from sports cars to F1, to join those already inducted. This year, the winners included Sébastien Loeb, Derek Bell and Professor Sid Watkins.
