Entry-level Caterham

An other British manufacturer was also drawing unlikely amounts of attention and for all the right reasons.

I think the steel wheels on the new Caterham 160 are just a little too spartan, but I like everything else, from the sub-500kg weight and 660cc triple motor to the 155 section tyres and the return to a live rear end. Most of all I like the price: less than £17,000. This is the closest the Seven has come to Colin Chapman’s original concept in 40 years of Caterham production. If it’s as good in the real world as it looks on paper and show stand, my days of Caterham ownership might not yet be over. Judging by the Twitter response to its unveiling, Caterham could soon find itself with a very nice problem on its hands: filling orders.
