'Saloonatics' set for return

Special Saloons and GT specials from the 1970s and ’80s will be back in action in 2012 following the success of the Classic Sports Car Club’s ‘Modsports Revival’ event at Mallory Park.

Among the 40-car grid were the ex-Gerry Marshall Vauxhall Firenza ‘Baby Bertha’, the Daf Oldsmobile and the victorious Vauxhall Carlton of Pete Stevens. CSCC now plans a fourrace series next season. Races at Donington, Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Castle Combe are most likely.
