Richard Bond
Richard Bond, who died recently aged 72, enjoyed a long and successful career in international sports car racing and went on to race historics in the 1980s and ’90s, notably the Marsh Plant Lola T70.
Early successes came in a lightweight Jaguar E in the mid-60s, and Bond then campaigned a GT40 across Europe, scoring top 10 finishes in the Reims 12Hrs and Monza 1000Kms and coming eighth at Le Mans in ’72 in a Ferrari Daytona with Derek Bell and Teddy Pilette.
