My racing life by Derek Bell and Alan Henry

Can it really be that 23 years have gone by since Derek Bell’s autobiography first hit the shelves?

When he and Alan Henry worked on the original back in 1987, Derek had just won his fifth Le Mans and admitted that he expected his topline career to be nearing its end. In truth, it was. But that didn’t stop this evergreen sports car hero enjoying a long Indian summer which of course included a near-miss sixth Le Mans win in a McLaren in 1995.

So here we have a second edition, including everything we’ve seen before, plus the story since 1987. The introduction is suitably called ‘Frankly speaking’ and that title sets the tone. If you didn’t read it first time around, you won’t want to miss it now. Great man, great career and he tells a great story. DS
