Off–track at the revival
The Goodwood Revival may be best known for the racing on offer, but if you take a step back from the circuit, there’s a whole host of events to immerse yourself in, as Motor Sport found out.
Kicking off proceedings was the annual cricket match on Thursday afternoon outside Goodwood House, where Derek Bell tried – in vain – to lead the Revival XI to victory over the 10th Duke of Richmond’s team.
Other highlights included the Oriental-themed ball on Saturday night at the aircraft hangar, where guests mingled with Chinese dragons, drank cocktails and danced the night away – some more convincingly than others, it must be said!
Escaping the draw of more cocktails meant that Maserati’s champagne reception and lunch on Sunday at Goodwood House was even more enjoyable. Guests were chauffeured to the house in Quattroportes and GranTurismos, arriving back in time for the afternoon’s racing.
