BMW to win world title?

BMW stands on the brink of its drivers taking a clean sweep in the two FIA World Touring Car Championships held to date — albeit separated by 18 years! With just one round to go (at Macau in November) German Dirk Müller, driving a 320i for the Schnitzer team, leads by just one point from Channel Islander Andy Priaulx, the reigning European champion with a Racing Bart Mampaey-run BMW. A title win for either would follow on from the success of Roberto Ravaglia, who drove an M3 for Schnitzer in1987.  But lurking a few points behind is Alfa Romeo’s Fabrizio Giovanardi.
