Nutt's cracker

Dessie Nutt and Steven Smith are the major winners in the 2004 Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship. Nutt and Geraldine McBride (Porsche 911) are the overall champions, while Smith and John Nichols (Ford Escort RS2000) took the post-historic division.

Nutt won the coveted title after a fantastic sequence of seven Category 1 wins from seven events in the Francis Tuthill-prepared machine.

Smith and Nichols, meanwhile, put in a superb campaign to see off the challenge of the more powerful BDA-engined Escorts.
