Stow away in front of Bugatti hordes

British racers Jeff Stow and Nick Faure were two of the stars of the Circuit des Remparts meeting at Angouleme. While Stow raced his T35B to victory in the all-Bugatti race, Faure mastered the circuit on his first visit to win the FIA GT/GTS contest in his Lotus Elan.

The narrow and demanding track around the famous walled city again delivered a fabulous atmosphere. A superb grid of 18 grand prix Bugattis assembled for the racing centrepiece, with Stow driving superbly to win convincingly.

Faure, meanwhile, took control of the GT/GTS race from pole position, despite only seeing the circuit for the first time in qualifying. “It’s more unforgiving than Monaco,” said Faure, who has already pledged to defend his victory in next year’s event
