Austin's Lola Takes BRDC Title
Peter Austin wrapped up the BRDC Historic Sportscar Championship at Imola’s Trofeo Alberto Ascari meeting on 1 October, at the wheel of his unique Lola Mk1, fitted with a 1500cc Climax twin-cam engine and a Laystall transaxle.
Win Percy thrashed the opposition to win both rounds of the double-header in the Don Law-prepared Lotus 15.
Talk of the pits, though, was another mighty performance by Justin Law, who made light of treacherous conditions to bring his Jaguar C-type home fourth and third, ahead of much younger machinery.
