An Appreciation
Sir
Having been an ardent reader of MOTOR SPORT for more years than I can actually remember, and finding enjoyment in reading even the advertisements and the “Monopoly” prices often quoted, there are two items I would like to comment upon.
The first is that dear old DSJ’s regular articles provide one of the high-spots of my perusal; his recent column of ‘This and That’ (Sept, 1990) really was quite superb, especially on the mixed-up situation regarding ‘fakes and originals’. His proposed Serendipity Championship is very amusing indeed. The second point is to ask if it would be possible to start a series of articles of F1 drivers away from racing. I have in mind details of their lives, interests, cars and perhaps even detailed interviews with them. I know one can read informative snippets which are published about them (often just prior to our own F1 races) but I am sure that the average reader has very little ‘in depth’ knowledge of his, or her, favourite driver.
Finally, a ‘thank you’ to all the reporters who help to put together MOTOR SPORT — it is greatly appreciated by at least one of your many, many readers.
