It is with sadness that we have to report the death of David Hampshire, the amateur driver of Bugatti cars and a 6CM Maserati before the war. After the war he raced the Maserati again before joining Reg Parnell’s Scuderia Ambrosiana and racing their 4CLT Maseratis. Hampshire also drove an ERA and after a break he returned to run a Lister-Bristol with good effect at Silverstone and in the Nine Hour sports car race at Goodwood in 1955, after which he returned to his business interests in Derby. He was 72 when he died there. WB
