1937 Shelsley FTD

I read with much interest of Charles Martin’s racing exploits. However, one very important episode appears to be missing, viz his 39.67 sec. at Shelster Walsh in 1937, in the ERA making second tap to the late A. F. P. Fare.

Indeed, up to the outbreak of war only these two drivers, together with, of course, Raymond Mays, had ever broken the 40 sec. time.

Also there seems to be some confusion between the Tifelremmen’ and the ‘Grosser Preis’ two quite different occasions. A Icester H. STOCKLEY
