A Puncture Problem

Sir,

The last part of the completion to restoring an Austin 7 rolling chassis involved the refitting of tyres and inners to the already stove enamelled wheels. On coming to the last inner tube a loud hiss proved there to be a hole in it. Anyway, coming to my point, we expected to have no trouble in obtaining a puncture outfit, even though it was Sunday. In vain however we returned home, having tried open garages. The following morning we tried three accessory shops and more garages. All in all, we had tried seven AA and RAC enlisted garages, three accessory shops, three other garages and finally we purchased the item in a bicycle shop. So much for modern garages and the AA’s and RAC’s wonderful service.

Thanks for a great magazine.
