Sir,

I wonder whether A.A. members realise that if they have brake or steering troubles on the road the A.A. will not help to put it right? I have this in writing. I found this out when my brake pads wore out recently. The spares they carry in their newly acquired vans are limited to fan belts and water hoses—plugs are too varied to carry!

All this brings me to the real point of this letter. Is it not about time motorists had a motoring organisation on their side? Who can we turn to when B. Castle says we will have 60, 50 etc. m.p.h. limits. Can we ever hope to have a tip off about Police speed traps, 1967 style; once stopped is there any hope for anyone hurtling along at 32 m.p.h.

Could we at least start a Hashing headlight code to warn fellow motorists of radar traps?
