Having recently had a short test-drive in a friend’s Rover 2000 my findings re the driving-position and gearchange are as follows— bloody awful on both counts.
If I remember right, you once said, Sir, after road-testing a Mk II Jaguar, that its suspension behaviour on an uncivilised road ” would make a Citroen owner sick with mirth ” . . . that is exactly how I (a very satisfied Mk. 11 Jaguar owner) felt after sampling the Rover’s driving position and gearchange …sick with mirth.
Thank you for the splendid colour section this month—the Bugatti picture alone was worth the price!
