The Jaguar XK150 - A Correction

In last month’s road test report on the Jaguar XKI50 we quoted the maximum speeds in first and second gear as 18 and 46 m.p.h.. respectively. These are sensible speeds at which to change up but the maxima on these ratios are 33 and 63 m.p.h., respectively. We have also been taken to task for quoting the direction-flashers as being operated by a steering column stalk in one part of the report, by a somewhat inaccessible facia-sill switch later in the report. In fact, on the test car the latter control was provided, and is illustrated in the XK150 instruction book. but Jaguar do provide a stalk control on some vans.
