Etancelin's Maserati on Show.
Philippe Etancelin’s first big victory of the season, when he vanquished the Ferrari Alfa-Romeos at Dieppe, has been the cause of his Maserati being displayed in the showrooms of the Standard Oil Company, l’avenue des Champs Elysees, Paris. The car was surrounded by bottles of Essolube, and attracted a tremendous amount of attention among the passing crowds.
Peter de Paolo. The news about Peter de Paolo, the
American driver, is not so good. It will be remembered that he had a very bad accident while practising at Barcelona for the Penya Rhin Grand Prix, driving a Maserati owned by the Braillard stable. de Paolo is lying in the American Hospital at Neuilly, near Paris, where he is receiving constant treatment for his injuries. Unfortunately, his head has not healed at the normal rate of progress, and it is possible that the difficult operation of trepanning will be necessary. We all wish him a satisfactory recovery.
