Renault RS18

Visibly this is not so different from the RS17. It has a slimmer nose, with McLaren-like slots in the underside to maintain good airflow to the floor and barge boards even as the car is turning. The S-duct entry is in the side of the nose (as formerly done by Merc, Toro Rosso and McLaren) rather than beneath. The sidepod inlets are high and significantly narrower, which gives a gentler coke bottle. The sidepods start farther back than the RS17’s, giving greater capacity to energise the airflow.
