This race promoter, who has died at the age of 59, was arguably the second most important name in the postwar history of Donington Park after Tom Wheatcroft.

A former journalist, who rose to become deputy editor of Autosport, he joined the staff at Donington in 1979 and had an on-off involvement at the track for the rest of his life. His Two Four Sports company effectively ran the track and promoted its race meetings from 1987.

After a short stint with Jonathan Palmer’s MotorSport Vision, Fearnall was back working at Donington at the time of his death.
