The racing heritage of Crystal Palace will be celebrated again at the end of May with a sprint event in the grounds of the London parkland, taking in some of the original race track.

The event on May 26/27 will mark 40 years since the race circuit closed at the end of the 1972 season, and the organisers are hoping to have up to 200 cars competing against the clock this year. New for 2012, which will be the third running of the sprint, will be the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club with a demonstration of classic Grand Prix bikes.
