Veteran Brian Redman will tackle the Grand Prix Masters series this summer when he guests in the 1972 Surtees TS9B run by James Hanson.

Redman will race the car at Pau in France in late May and then again in the Silverstone Classic at the end of July.

The Lancastrian will start his European campaign at Monaco, racing a rare 1962 Scirocco. A week later he will make his debut in the Surtees at Pau, more than 35 years after he raced for Team Surtees in the South African GP. Then, in July, he will be a star of the Silverstone event in this, his 70th year.

“Giving the GPM drivers the chance to race against one of the most respected drivers of a generation is a logical step for the series,” said Hanson, who was a GPM race winner with the TS9B last summer. Hanson will race the Surtees in other races, which may well include the Masters-organised race at the French GP at Magny-Cours in July.

US father and son Bobby and Danny Baker are also staying on after Monaco to join the grid at Pau, driving a Brabham BT33 and Shadow DN5 respectively.
