Jean-Pierre Jabouille will be reunited with Renault RS01 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June, 27 years after the partnership marked the French manufacturer’s entry into Formula 1.

The RS01 was the first 1.5-litre turbo car to race in F1. Jabouille gave the car its debut at Silverstone in July 1977, but retired with turbo problems on lap 17. Two years later, Jabouille took RS11 to Renault’s first Fl win at Dijon.

Rene Arnoux will also attend the Festival of Speed on June 25-27 to mark the 25th anniversary of his titanic battle with Gilles Villeneuve in the same race at Dijon in 1979.

The modem-day Renault Fl team will be represented at the Festival in the shape of the R23 with which Fernando Alonso won his first grand prix in Hungary last year.
