Miscellany - Obituary - Dr. Joseph Bayley, May 2000

We were saddened to hear that Dr Joseph Bayley, Bugatti owner and possessor of an historic ex-Brooklands Douglas motorcycle, has died at an advanced age. His knowledge of BMCRC racing at the Track was superb and his pictorial record of it in his book ‘The Vintage Years At Brooklands’ a reminder of these pre-war racing bikes, glimpses of cars and personalities in the splendid pictures capturing the atmosphere delightfully. His son, Dr A J Bayley, intends to preserve his father’s records and his run of MOTOR SPORT from the Brooklands Gazette issues.
