It is with the deepest regret that we learn of the death from cancer of T A (Bob) Roberts, OBE, a Vice-President of the Bugatti OC, owner of the Midlands Motor Museum and a great enthusiast for the better sports cars, of which he owned a formidable collection, commencing with his favourite, a T43 Bugatti. In spite of a long illness, from which he recovered for a time, Bob remained a very fast driver and his outstanding VSCC racing and speed trial performances with the Sunbeam “Tiger” will not be forgotten. His sale of the Napier Railton to Victor Gauntlett and the auctioning of the Sunbeam are now understandable. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Roberts and to the Roberts’ close friend, Mike Barker, who was appointed Curator of the Museum by Bob. WB
