Application forms to drive or spectate at Goodwood’s remaining 1989 Supercar Club Testdays on May 29 or August 19 can be obtained by sending an sae to Supercar Testday, 44 Sussex Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 4ED. These meetings are organised to enable members of the public to test their cars at speeds not permitted on the roads.
Venue this year for the Standard Triumph International Rally is the Dutch village of Renesse, where a touring trip and concours will take place on May 27-28. For information and reservations write to VVV Renesse, PO Box 41, NL-4325 ZG Renesse, Netherlands.
A Chiltern Section of the Bristol Owners’ Club has been founded by Alan Pritchard (telephone 0727-59144), and will meet monthly at Ashton Green in Hertfordshire.
The small but enthusiastic Trojan Owners Club plans a rally in Gloucestershire on July 9. A recent issue of its magazine reminds us that Trojan 7 cwt vans were used not only by Brooke Bond but also by J Lyons & Co and London Transport.
Citroen Traction Owners Club’s Annual Rally is based at Stratford-upon-Avon racecourse on May 26-28, and is also open to earlier models and to the public. On June 16-19 members will be touring southern England from a base in Whitchurch, Hampshire.
Fairthorpe Sports Car Club is celebrating “40 Years of Turners” with a gathering at the Gwernvale Manor Hotel at Crickhowell in Powys on July 2 which will be attended by Jack Turner himself as well as his former employees and cars. Mog ’89, the annual international Morgan gathering, is being organised this year by the MSCC Scotland and based in Carrbridge. The weekend starts with a test day at Knockhill on Friday June 23 and finishes with concours and gymkhana on the Sunday, and further details can be obtained by sending an sae to Martyn Culling at 3 Fruin Rise, Earnock, Hamilton, Lanarkshire ML3 9UY.
In its latest Newsletter, the archives orientated Crossley Register reproduces two articles from Motor Sport about the 20/70 sports models. This year’s Crossley Rally will be held in Norfolk on July 1-2.
