VSCC May fixtures

THE active Vintage SCC will hold speed trials at Curborough, near Lichfield, on May 9th, and its Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies Race Meeting at Donington Park circuit, near Derby, on May 23rd. Both are open to paying spectators, admission to Donington being £3.50 per adult, accompanied children up to 14 free, as is car parking, this charge including Paddock admission. Racing is due to start at around 2 p.m., and apart from the big race for pre-war racing cars, there will be the John Holland Trophy Race for vintage racing cars, the Geoghegan Trophy Race for vintage sports cars, a furious All-Comers’ contest and supporting short handicap and scratch races. Those who remember the vintage atmosphere at this venue before the war have a chance of recapturing it on May 23rd, at what is now one of the World’s finest race circuits, together with Tom Wheatcroft’s splendid Racing Car Museum within the grounds.
