Another Brooklands Riley 9
Sir,
Reference to your query as to whose was the Brooklands Kiley Nine at Shelsley Walsh Amateur Meeting in September 1931 (incidentally was not this the last amateur meeting held?). On referring to the programme for that day there were two Riley y’s entered. No. 9 was entered and driven by T. 13. Wood and No. 13 was entered and driven by R. Beattie Seaman.
Both are shown as Riley Nines with a bore and stroke of 60.3X 95.2 1089 c.c. and ran in Class 2, 851 to 1,100 c.c. as sports cars.
Unfortunately I did not record any times, this incidendy was my baptism into motor racing and have been bitten with the bug ever since.
