We receive so many letters relating to road-tests from readers about to purchase new cars, or who wish to compare performances of secondhand cars with those of identical cars when new, or who have bought an interesting car and wish to file as much information about it as they can command, or who are merely generally interested in sports-car perforinance, that we feel the time has come to compile an Index of all the road-tests we have published. Naturally, some of the earlier back numbers are now out of print but if you quote the date of issue we can inform you at once whether the road-test in which you are interested is still available. Incidentally, we commenced quoting acceleration figures away back in 1924 and most of the later tests embody the well known acceleration charts (plotted every ten-miles-perhour to the maximum, at Brooklands), while nearly all of them include photographs of the car and its powerunit together with technical notes. Where dates are given in brackets the test relates to secondhand cars of the period named, otherwise the cars are of the same year as the issue in which the report appeared :—
