THE FIRST INDIAN T.T. RACE.
The first road race to be held in Western India was run by the Bombay Motor Cycle and Car Club on March 8th, 1925.
The course of 51 miles, Thana to Lonavla, was over a very indifferent road, including a Ghat road four ‘miles in length with thirty corners and to S bends, and rising just over 2,000 feet in this distance.
Considering the state of the road and the general conditions prevailing in India (this is not one of our Northern India Grand Trunk roads) the timings were very creditable.
