The Hesketh chassis in which James Hunt made his final grand prix starts with the British team in 1975 will return to racing in the FORCE Classic GP series.

Hesketh 308C, chassis number 1, was raced in the non-championship Swiss GP and then the Italian and US events by Hunt before being sold to Walter Wolf and rebadged as a Williams FW05. This chassis was raced by Jacky Ickx in 1976, prior to being retired to a museum in Germany.

New owner Graham Wilcox acquired the car a year ago and a major rebuild by Fred Goddard Racing is now complete. “It had a dummy engine and a lot was missing,” said Wilcox, who is aiming to give the car its historic debut at Spa-Francorchamps in May.
