Where are the champions?
Sir,
First of all, let me compliment your staff for the remarkable 100 Greatest Drives feature — it must have required a lot of research.
I must strongly disagree, however, with the absence of great champions such as Emerson Fittipaldi and Nelson Piquet.
The former is a two-time Formula One champion, an IndyCar champion, and a two-time Indianapolis winner. The latter is a triple Formula One champion.
It is amazing that your qualified team of experts were unable to find any great drives from these outstanding champions.
Finally, in spite of a much less glorious career (so far), Rubens Barrichelo’s amazing first Formula One win, at Hockenheim in 2000, surely deserved a top-50 place in your list.
