Aston Martin – The Post-War Competition Cars
by Anthony Pritchard. Aston Publications, £21.95.
Roy Salvadori writes the foreword to Anthony Pritchard’s latest exercise. From the DB1 all the way to the AMR1 Group C project axed by new owners Ford in 1990, the story includes production cars, the works sports-racers, and the “half-and-halfs” such as the Lola-Aston, Nimrod and EMKA. Photo coverage is good (all black & white), and includes period advertisements and promotional material.
To round off the comprehensive model-by-model chapters, several appendices list specifications, race achievements and individual histories of the works chassis, making this a useful compendium of Aston facts well worth its price tag. GC
