Starting in Edinburgh on Friday May 12 and finishing there two days later, the Ecurie Ecosse Historic Motor Tour of Scotland includes four daytime rest-halts designated for public viewing and a race finale at Knockhill on the Sunday. 750 Motor Club’s1989 Year Book contains everything you could possibly want to know about the various formulae under which this active and ambitious organisation operates — in the racing and trials fields — and the results of last season’s contests. This year’s Brooklands Society Reunion is scheduled for June 18, with Test Hill ascents, a paddock Concours d’Elegance and garden party. Numbers are restricted to 1500.
All exhibition space for the London International Classic Car Show at Alexandra Palace was sold before Christmas, and the organisers claim the event, which takes place over Easter weekend, March 25-27, has the largest trade representation of any show in Britain.
John Bridcutt has taken over as secretary to the Jaguar Car Club which was formed’, last spring. Club magazine Jaguar World is a well-printed, glossy 30-page publication which includes news, book and model reviews, reports on events, features on: personalities and useful advertisements.
BMW Drivers Club now has more than a thousand ’02 models on its register, and will be organising an international gathering of these cars at Snetterton this year, possibly at the Willhire 24-Hour Race. Telephone the Club Secretary on 0362-694459 for details.
Weston Park in Shropshire hosts the second Midlands Festival of Transport on March 26-27, and Dartmouth Park in West Bromwich is the venue for the twelfth Sandwell Historic Vehicle Parade and Transport Show on May 14.
