For the first time since the birth of the marque, a Lamborghini racing car will shortly make its appearance. A 5.7-litre V12 Countach engine will power the Group C sportscar which although bearing the name Countach looks similar to other competitors in the WSC series. Installed in a Spice Engineering chassis, the 48-valve motor should start with some 650 bhp, while 700 bhp is the aim by the year’s end.

Sponsorship comes from Unipart, the car being in the black colour scheme of their new Supreme motor oil, and the team will be run by CC Racing Developments of Yorkshire, under team manager Brian Gillibrand. The car s first outing will be at Monza in Aprii, followed by Silverstone on May 5th. and the two drivers will be Mauro Baldi and Tiff Needell — G.C.
