Winters edition of The Lagonda is a splendid production boasting colour photographs inside and out of the Club’s visit to the 24 Heures du Mans which of course marked the 50th anniversary of the marque s win at the Sarthe circuit.
The VSCC calendar is always a busy one. Saturday March 1st sees the Pomeroy Trophy at Silverstone as always, and although entries are now closed, it is a pleasant day out for spectators. On March 15th 16th the Wessex Trial will be held in Somerset and the Welsh Weekend will take place on April 5th/6th based at Llanwyrtyd Wells.
Another club with an anniversary this year is the Austin Healey Club: their 25 years will be celebrated at the International Healey Weekend at Stafford County Showground on July 18th-20th. Before that the New Forest Section will have their Annual Dinner and Dance in Hampshire at which the guest Speaker will be Richard Noble. A Historic car race has been provisionally arranged by the Manx Motor Racing Club for September 6th using the Willaston circuit which incorporates parts of the TT course. The VSCC will run the event which will been a handicap basis. Further details from Gordon Sweetapple, 18 Odins Way Ballakillowey, Colby, Isle of Man. Another historic event also overseas is Mille Migila 1986. With 250 entries, this toughest of historic events will follow the traditional Brescia-Rome-Brescia Pattern on May 1st-3rd. In theory this is a regularity event, though past experience indicates that the Pace is spectacular especially through the mountain passes. The organisers are AC Brescia.
