“Aston Martin and Lagonda” by Michael Frostick. 196 pp. 10 in. X 7 in. (Dalton Watson Ltd., 76, WardoUr Street, London, WAV 4AN. £7.50.)

Although any more about Aston Martins at present is apt to set one screaming, this is rather different, because the coverage comes mainly in the form of fine photography, produced in the N’ery high-class Dalton Watson style, and the Astons are linked with Lagondas, down the years. Thus you have a galaxy of pictorial history, Irons the 1920s to very recent times, with the special coachwork, the competition appearances, the production models of the two great British makes which eventually merged under the David 1-frown banner, all beautifully and generously laid out.

Inevitably Frostick has had to resort in places to previously-digested prints and he has used a few recent shots of the 11.9-h.p. Lagonda light-cars. And I think the driver of the Aston Martin “Bunny” at the top of page 88 is Stead, not Gallop (and I am horrified to read of “Seagraye”, on the same page) but it’s the picturesthat matter. So those who like to. take their motoring history in this pleasant Dalton Watson manner will surely Want this one, to go with all the other fine volumes which have issued from this well-known publishing house.—W.B.
