Insurance increases II
Sir,
I was interested to read John F. L. Woods letter in your January edition of MOTOR SPORT regarding insurance prices. I recently had an enlightening experience, my circumstances being similar to those of Mr. Wood.
I own an MG-B, am 27 years of age and qualified in a profession. Having recently been involved in an accident through which I lost all my no claims bonus and had my licence endorsed, I obtained insurance quotations of £206, £131, £128, £120 and £106 all from different brokers with the same facts.
The interesting point is that in contrast to Mr. Wood, the above quotations were all with the same insurance company and the lowest was from the AA of which I am a member.
It would seem that where motor insurance is concerned it is impossible to draw any conclusions and I have learnt it certainly pays to “shop around” to avoid paying exorbitant premiums.
Hooley.
