Ford cars and service.

Having read the letters of Mr. English, Mr. McGhee and Mr. Kearns, I can only conclude that they have been most unfortunate in the service they have received from their Ford motor cars, and apparently also from certain agents.

I have been driving motor cars of all sorts for well over 30 years, and just over twelve months ago I decided to buy a Ford Zephyr after consulting many members of my motor club and other friends who strongly advised a Zephyr. I have now had this motor car for 16,000 miles, which includes over 2,000 miles on the Continent last year, and I can say without any hesitation at all that I have never had a car more suited to my needs; incidentally, for the information of Mr. English, I still own a 3-litre Bentley. The Zephyr has never given me one moment’s trouble or anxiety. I have used it in local rallies and I have driven it for every-day driving in all sorts of weathers. It has never been vicious either in wet or snow, or any other conditions. Of course, with small wheels and high power you can get into serious trouble with a car of this nature, as indeed you can in any car, if one is not prepared to drive with care and understanding, and I have no hesitation at all in saying that on a snowy road in the hands of a complete novice, the Zephyr would be a deadly weapon, but so would any other car.

One final word. I have so much confidence in the products of Ford that I have added a Consul to my collection for the use of my wife, a thing I would certainly not do if they were dangerous vehicles, as is suggested by your correspondents.
