Connaught Racing Syndicate

The Connaught Racing Syndicate can now announce that the drivers for the official Connaught team in 1953 will be in this order:  Geoff. Duke, R. D. Poore and Ken McAlpine. Geoff. Duke and R. D. Poore are engaged subject to their commitments with Aston Martin in sports-car racing.

Peter G. C. Murdoch. who is now managing the Syndicate, is arranging a comprehensive programme in Home and Continental events and expects that the cars will first be in action at Goodwood on Easter Monday.

The cars will be 2-litre models similar to those raced in 1952.  The Syndicate’s objective consists of the new 1954 2-1/2-litre formula, when it is hoped to operate cars now being designed and built at the Connaught Engineering Works to provide an effective challenge to the existing Continental supremacy.
