ACTIVITIES AT THE BELLEVUE GARAGE

Owing to greatly increased business in the racing and the commercial departments of the garage, further extensions have been made to the racing workshops. Adjacent property has been acquired and new buildings are now in the course of erection.

It is hoped that the new buildings will be ready by the commencement of the racing season and they will accommodate many more cars than in previous years. It has been found necessary to entirely separate the racing department from the ordinary garage and service department and a subsidiary company is being formed, to be called “Bellevue Garage (Racing) Ltd.” and will only specialise in the preparation and tuning of racing and sports-cars for any type of event. Mr. W. Wilkinson, who is well known to readers of MOTOR SPORT, has been elected a director of the new company and will also continue to act as General Manager. The plans of D. G. Evans will be to run the special ” Sprint ” Montlhe..ry M.G., which is fitted with a ” Q ” type engine, in speed trials and hill climbs for the forthcoming season. This car has been further modified during the winter months, particular attention having been given to reduction of weight. The unblown 1,287 c.c. ” N ” type Magnette

which was raced by G. B. C. Sumner has been completely rebuilt. The capacity of the engine has been lowered to bring the car in the 1,100 c.c. class, and is fitted with six carburetters. This car will be

driven this season in various events by K. Evans and W. E. Wilkinson.
