STUDENTS of the Daily Press may have noticed that there have been numerous complaints about the existence of speed boats on the Thames. There is no law prohibiting the use of speed boats on any part of
the Thames that is under the control of the Port of London Authority.
One must not, of course, make an undue noise, and care must be exercised in negotiating the area between Richmond and Teddington. The stream of complaints about
the noise of speed dinghies is gradually having less effect upon the authorities, as during the month of January when no speed boat of any description was in use on the Upper Thames, the complaints poured in with the same rhythmic regularity.
