'Bored' Moss plans return
Sir Stirling Moss has pledged that the accident at home which left him with two broken ankles will not curtail his racing, with the 80-year-old legend aiming to return to the track at Silverstone in mid-May.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Moss confirmed that he is working towards racing his 1956 OSCA sports-racing car (above) at Silverstone over the weekend of May 15/16 in the opening round of the Sir Stirling Moss Trophy. The series of races is run by Motor Racing Legends for pre-61 sports and sports-racing cars.
“I hope to race at Silverstone in the OSCA, that’s the race I’m aiming at,” said Moss, who fell three storeys down the lift shaft of his Mayfair home. “I hope to be standing on my own feet by the start of May. It just takes longer when you are older and it’s very boring.”
