Foes reunited
The Ferrari 312PB and the Alfa Romeo T33/3 that shared the podium at Daytona in 1972 will be back on the same grid this summer as a growing number of 3-litre sports-prototypes contest the World Sportscar Masters races.
Irvine Laidlaw’s Ferrari was the 1972 works Ronnie Peterson/Tim Schenken car and won 1000km races at the Nürburgring and in Argentina. Meanwhile, Jon Minshaw will race the Vic Elford/Helmut Marko Alfa from the 1972 World Sportscar Championship. The car, which probably last raced in 1974, has had a lengthy restoration by Paul Lanzante.
