Connaught sale

A rare 1952 Connaught A-type will be offered at auction in late May. The car, chassis A8, was run by the factory throughout the 1953 season, and was driven by Stirling Moss, Roy Salvadori and Prince Bira.

One of its best results came in the British Grand Prix when Bira finished seventh, the first non-Italian car home.

It was raced extensively in 1980s historic events by Gerry Walton, and is expected to reach around £100,000.

It is being sold ready-to-race at the H&H auction at Buxton.
