Loved it! Wharton and all
Sir,
I have just finished reading — at high speed — the May issue; there was so much that I enjoyed I had difficulty putting it down.
It was of particular interest to learn more about Ken Wharton. His name was known to me because of the ‘Ken Wharton Autotest’, which was an event that, I believe, started in the late 1950s and was held, certainly until very recently, each year. It was contested by teams representing Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England and, of course, the Irish, who were consistent winners. The event has even been televised and was the height of autotesting competition.
The article about Joginder Singh was fabulous, too. His is a name somehow forgotten — but now thankfully revived in the article.
I have been a Motor Sport subscriber for some time, but somehow this issue really ‘hit the spot’ for me.
