A true enthusiast

As a long time admirer of Tom wheatcroft and all that he has done for motor-racing! am pleased a fine brochure has been iss ued about his famed Donington GP Collection, the largest assembly of GP cars anywhere in the world. Exhibits include the biggest McLaren display anywhere, the replica twin-engined Alfa Romeo Bimotore, Jim Clark’s winning Lotus 25, a flat-12 Ferrari and two 1922 TT Sunbeams, sidevalve and twin-cam A7s, 8CM Maserati, V16 BRM, Williams FW14B, and the quite fabulous V12 Auto Union, right up Tom’s replica Bugatti Royale which he has driven for some 10,000 miles, I believe. Now this 100 per cent motor racing enthusiast is able to enjoy fast lappery round his own fine circuit in almost any of the museum’s cars. Details on 01332 811027.
